One Hour Of Watching TV Shorten Your Life By 22 mins.

Well you might have heard that TV is not good for eyes.but also recent research shows that it reduce your life span.

According to a new unbelievable report by the University of Queensland, every hour of TV watching shortens your life by 22 minutes.and also, anyone who spends 6 hours per day watching television is shortening their life by a total of 5 years.

Researchers say that watching too much TV is as dangerous as smoking or being overweight, and that the “ubiquitous sedentary behaviour” should be seen as a “public health problem”.
According to paper published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine, Dr J Lennert Veerman and colleagues looked at the results of a survey of 11,247 Australians taken in 1999-2000, which asked about time spent watching TV, and also mortality figures for the country.

They constructed a model in which they compared life expectancy for adults who watch TV to those who did not, and worked out that every hour spent glued to the screen shortened life by 21.8 minutes.

For those in the top 1 per cent of the population who watch six hours of programmes a day, they “can expect to live 4.8 years less than a person who does not watch TV”.
The researchers say that watching TV is among the most common forms of sedentary behaviour, along with sitting in cars.

"The more time we spend watching TV, the more time we spend eating mindlessly in front of the TV, and the less time we spend being physically active," Dr. David L. Katz, founding director of the prevention research center at Yale University School of Medicine, told Health Day.That in turn "means greater risk for obesity, and the chronic diseases it tends to anticipate, notably diabetes, heart disease and cancer."

LimeWire Being Sued for $75 TRILLION by 13 record companies.

13 music industry wants LimeWire to pay up to $75 trillion in damages after losing a copyright infringement claim. That’s right . . . $75 trillion.a hilarious sum of money that quite possibly doesn’t even exist. When the companies won a ruling against Lime Wire last May, they requested damages that could now end up totaling the aforementioned ridiculous amount, which is five times our national debt.the U.S. GDP is around 14 trillion – less than one fifth of what the music industry is requesting. Heck, the GDP of the entire world is between 59 and 62 trillion. That’s right, the music industry wants LimeWire to pay more money than exists in the entire world.

Famous file-sharing service LimeWire was shut down last October, after Judge Wood found them liable for copyright infringement in May 2010.

The plaintiffs requested damages from $400 billion to $75 trillion and argued that Section 504(c)(1) of the Copyright Act “provided for damages for each instance of infringement where two or more parties were liable,” which could explain how the total could somehow rise to the $75 trillion, because each “instance of infringement” could technically be counted as each and every separate download.

In Vietnamese Man Slept Next To Dead Wife for 5 Years.

55-year-old man Le Van from Ha Lam in the central Quang Nam province dug up his wife’s body and molded it with clay into a female figure and put it in his bed so he could hug it every night for the past five years.

According to reports, Van began by sleeping upon his wife’s grave after she died in 2003. He said that a year and a half later he decided to dig a tunnel next to his wife’s grave so he could sleep beside her away from the rain and wind.
However, neighbors and local authorities found out about the practice and persuaded Van to stop. Subsequently in November 2004 Van returned to the grave, dug up his wife’s corpse and brought it home, where it remains today.
Van’s son, photographed below with his mother’s corpse, is said to hug her body before going to bed each night.

His father told the Lao Dong newspaper that his neighbours dared not visit him for years, but have since grown more accustomed to the idea and will now pay him a visit from time to time.
“I’m a person that does things differently. I’m not like normal people,” he was quoted as saying. “My wife’s body only passed away but her spirit still accompanies us. I have no fear when it comes to sleeping with her at all.”
Local authorities are said to be planning an inspection of the case because of new sanitation laws that rule a body must be cremated or buried, and that burials cannot be carried out in residential gardens without approval.

In China baby survived by being accidentally flushed down the toilet.

In Jiang Su, China, a 19 year-old pregnant woman went to a bathroom unaware of the ordeal to come.
While in the bathroom her pre-matured baby girl was unknowingly birthed slipping out of her body into a tunnel designed toilet. The infant was then accidentally flushed into the waste pipe.

The local police and firemen started a rescue team to try and save the baby. Hours later they had to break open the waste pipe and get the baby out.
She was barely breathing after been rescued. It’s certainly a miracle that she was still alive after seven hours stuck in the waste pipe.

A bolt of lightning once struck a soccer pitch and killed entire team

It might sound unbelievable,in 1998 a bolt of lightning once struck a soccer pitch during a game and killed an entire team, leaving the other team completely unhurt.

All 11 members of a football team were killed by a bolt of lightning which left the other team unhurt, a Congolese newspaper has reported.Thirty other people received burns at the match in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Kinshasa daily newspaper L'Avenir said local opinion - known to believe in charms and spells - was divided over whether someone had cursed the team. The two sides were drawing 1-1 in the match in eastern Kasai Province when the lightning struck the visiting team.

"The athletes from [the home team] Basanga curiously came out of this catastrophe unscathed," the paper said.

There was no official confirmation of the report - a rebel war affects much of the east of the country.

Thai cook fries chicken burning-hot oil with his completely bare hands.

Unbelievable but truth. The 50-year-old Chiang Mai-based street cook can sink his fingers into 480 degrees hot grease without getting so much as a blister on his hands, and his amazing ability has won him international fame. People from all over the world come to his “Fried Chicken Iron Hands Man” food stall to see Kann use his hands to scoop out the chicken and he and his wife travel the globe showing off his gift. Superhands has no idea why he can do what he does, but he’s just happy it brings more and more customers for his business, every day.
Kann Who really is a super human, got the title of “Superhands” Trichan. He got this cool nickname for his incredible ability of scooping pieces of chicken and beef from burning-hot oil with his completely bare hands.
The Story of discovering his supernatural ability is really interesting. Kann Trichan first discovered his unusual gift seven years ago, when he accidentally got hot oil splattered all over his body. While attending his giant woks, he noticed a squirrel eating a mango on a branch just above him. The squirrel dropped the big fruit right in the oil splattering it all over Kann’s body and head. A taxi took him home and when he got up the next day ready to go see a doctor, he took a look in the mirror only to see he had no burns. The redness was fading away and his skin was practically intact, so he just decided to go back to work, to the astonishment of his fellow street vendors.

Kann Trichan also holds the Guinness Record for picking 20 pieces of chicken from oil heated to 480 degrees Celsisus, in just one minute. He says he can feel the oil is hot when he dips his hands in it, but it simply leaves no mark. Scientists have yet to unravel this peculiar gift.

Now Cockroaches Can Be Controlled By Remote, New Scientific Discovery.

Well that is hard to believe biorobotic cockroaches which can be control by remote control, this my sound weird and creepy to you but as you will read article you will know its more useful at scientific point of view.

Scientists from from North Carolina State University have made this technique to control cockroach by remote.they used an electronic interface to developed this technique. Alper Bozkurt, an assistant professor of electrical engineering at NC State says:

"Our aim was to determine whether we could create a wireless biological interface with cockroaches, which are robust and able to infiltrate small spaces. Ultimately, we think this will allow us to create a mobile web of smart sensors that uses cockroaches to collect and transmit information, such as finding survivors in a building that’s been destroyed by an earthquake."

They also believe making robot at this scale is very challenging so they decided to use biobotic cockroaches as they are expert in performing such tasks.

Bozkurt’s team used low-cost, light-weight, commercially-available chip with a wireless receiver and transmitter onto each roach (they used Madagascar hissing cockroaches). Weighing 0.7 grams, the cockroach backpack also contains a micro controller that monitors the interface between the implanted electrodes and the tissue to avoid potential neural damage. The micro controller is wired to the roach’s antennae and cerci.

Chewing gum can help your brain function more efficiently.

Chewing gum is one of those things you do mindlessly while working, while driving or while sitting in class. You might pop a piece of gum into your mouth to ward off bad breath, or to satisfy a craving for something sweet, but you have probably never stopped to think about the effects that a piece of gum can have on your body. Surprisingly, gum chewing can have a positive effect on your health and can even prevent certain conditions from developing.

Cognitive Benefits Of Chewing Gum

1. Chewing Gum Can Help You Concentrate
Before heading to work each morning, you probably have a cup or two of coffee to wake up and feel alert. Instead of ingesting all of that caffeine, how about chewing a piece of gum for the same effect? Studies show that chewing gum can give your brain a boost and help with concentration. That boost will last for about 20 minutes, but that’s enough to wake your brain up and get ready for the day.
2. Mint Gum Can Wake You Up
If you’re really feeling sleepy, chew some mint-flavored gum. Researchers at Coventry University have found that people who chew mint-flavored gum tend to feel less sleepy than before they chewed it. The researchers also found that people tend to look less sleepy after chewing mint gum, so if you look like you haven’t gotten a good night’s sleep in a while, pop a piece of mint gum into your mouth and chew away.
3. Chewing Increases Blood Flow To The Brain
Chewing gum can also increase the flow of blood to the brain by 25 to 40 percent. This is important because an increase in blood flow means an increase in the amount of oxygen delivered to the brain. An increase in oxygen, in turn, means the memory can work more efficiently. Andrew Sholey, a professor at the British Sciences Institute in Australia, has shown that the short-term memory can improve by up to 35 percent just by chomping on a wad of gum.
4. Gum Chewing Helps You Pay Attention
Other studies show that chewing gum can improve attention spans, induce a quicker reaction time and even put chewers in a positive mood. Research involving students showed that those who chew gum while taking a test tend to have higher scores than their non-gum chewing peers. Students also tend to take fewer breaks and pay more attention in the classroom when chewing gum.

Effects On Appetite

1. Chewing Gum Can Suppress Your Appetite
A study conducted at Louisiana State University showed that people who chewed gum after eating lunch had less food cravings later in the day. The subjects were less likely to eat high-calorie snacks if they had chewed gum once an hour for three hours after eating lunch.
2. Chewing Gum Can Reduce Cravings For Sweets
The same study mentioned above along with others, have shown that chewing gum can also reduce people’s cravings for sweets. Some studies have shown that even people who chew sugar-free gum are less likely to reach for a sweet snack. (To get more tips on controlling your cravings,

Health Benefits On The Rest Of The Body

1. Gum Chewing Can Prevent Tooth Decay
There’s no better way to prevent tooth decay than by brushing your teeth regularly. But you can’t always brush after every meal, so chewing gum is the next best thing. The American Dental Association (ADA) recommends chewing a piece of sugar-free gum for 20 minutes after a meal if you aren’t able to brush your teeth. Chewing gum can stimulate the production of saliva and the physical act of chewing and swishing that saliva around your mouth can wash away any bacteria that may be on your teeth.
2. Chewing Can Prevent Acid Reflux
An increase in saliva production can also help prevent acid reflux as well as other symptoms of heartburn. Studies show that saliva can act like an antacid in the stomach and the act of swallowing saliva can stimulate the contraction of the muscle walls, which helps you digest your food. For best results, chew sugar-free gum.
3. Chewing Gum Can Help The Intestines Recover Quickly After Surgery
Here’s one benefit of chewing gum that may really surprise you – it can help your intestines through a speedy recovery after removal of portions of the colon or other abdominal surgery. Studies show that patients who chewed gum after having a major abdominal surgery took less time to start passing gas and to have a bowel movement than those who did not chew gum. The patients who chewed gum were also released from the hospital before those who did not chew gum. Researchers say this is because chewing gum is a way to trick the body into thinking you’re eating. It stimulates the digestive system as well as saliva production and releases gastrointestinal hormones.
The next time you reach for a high-calories snack or even a cup of coffee, grab a stick of gum instead. You’ll not only save a few calories; you’ll also benefit from the surprising impact chewing gum can have on your health.

11 Facts About Human Hair And Nails That Everyone Should Know.

11 SECRET FACTS ABOUT HAIR & NAILS

  1. Facial hair grows faster than any other hair on the body. If you’ve ever had a covering of stubble on your face as you’re clocking out at 5 o’clock you’re probably pretty familiar with this. In fact, if the average man never shaved his beard it would grow to over 30 feet during his lifetime, longer than a killer whale.
  2. Every day the average person loses 60-100 strands of hair. Unless you’re already bald, chances are good that you’re shedding pretty heavily on a daily basis. Your hair loss will vary in accordance with the season, pregnancy, illness, diet and age.
  3. Women’s hair is about half the diameter of men’s hair. While it might sound strange, it shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise that men’s hair should be coarser than that of women. Hair diameter also varies on average between races, making hair plugs on some men look especially obvious.
  4. One human hair can support 3.5 ounces. That’s about the weight of two full size candy bars, and with hundreds of thousands of hairs on the human head, makes the tale of Rapunzel much more plausible.
  5. The fastest growing nail is on the middle fingerAnd the nail on the middle finger of your dominant hand will grow the fastest of all. Why is not entirely known, but nail growth is related to the length of the finger, with the longest fingers growing nails the fastest and shortest the slowest.
  6. There are as many hairs per square inch on your body as a chimpanzee. Humans are not quite the naked apes that we’re made out to be. We have lots of hair, but on most of us it’s not obvious as a majority of the hairs are too fine or light to be seen.
  7. Blondes have more hair. They’re said to have more fun, and they definitely have more hair. Hair color determines how dense the hair on your head is. The average human has 100,000 hair follicles, each of which is capable of producing 20 individual hairs during a person’s lifetime. Blondes average 146,000 follicles while people with black hair tend to have about 110,000 follicles. Those with brown hair fit the average with 100,000 follicles and redheads have the least dense hair, with about 86,000 follicles.
  8. Fingernails grow nearly 4 times faster than toenails. If you notice that you’re trimming your fingernails much more frequently than your toenails you’re not just imagining it. The nails that get the most exposure and are used most frequently grow the fastest. On average, nails on both the toes and fingers grow about one-tenth of an inch each month.
  9. The lifespan of a human hair is 3 to 7 years on average. While you quite a few hairs each day, your hairs actually have a pretty long life providing they aren’t subject to any trauma. Your hairs will likely get to see several different haircuts, styles, and even possibly decades before they fall out on their own.
  10. You must lose over 50% of your scalp hairs before it is apparent to anyone. You lose hundreds of hairs a day but you’ll have to lose a lot more before you or anyone else will notice. Half of the hairs on your pretty little head will have to disappear before your impending baldness will become obvious to all those around you.
  11. Human hair is virtually indestructible. Aside from it’s flammability, human hair decays at such a slow rate that it is practically non-disintegrative. If you’ve ever wondered how your how clogs up your pipesso quick consider this: hair cannot be destroyed by cold, change of climate, water, or other natural forces and it is resistant to many kinds of acids and corrosive chemicals.
